Jared Singleton This record is fucking phenomenal. Period. From beginning to end, it's so lush in its attack. The build up to the final track will give you goosebumps, as well as make you tear up, raise your fist in the air, or all three at once. Don't pass this up. Favorite track: Embers & Oxygen.
dllahr

dllahr I love the music, but then I thought I heard a Top Gun quote in a song, and I looked and the title was another Top Gun quote, and I did a triple take and fell over.
Going to sound like fanboy, but I love every track. This is very rare for me, but I do. Favorite track: No Points for Second Place.
Conan Neutron

Conan Neutron B-52s and Shudder To Think superhero team-up, Dismemberment Plan covering the New Pornographers. Whatever! Body Futures play music as unique as their name, it's catchy it's angular and it's absolutely vital. Let's get down to it boppers. Favorite track: Heliopause.

Slim was a marked man bandit dapper, society contact racketeer Beau Brummell looking only for the long dough for Capone in Chicago There seemed to be a struggle, his vest was ripped and his coat was tossed across the road Just outside of Red Wing, he held the gun he shot in war by its muzzle Transfiguration, beyond a reasonable doubt, put Camden on the spot and made it look like a suicide Mae was on Wacouta Trunk Highway Three, last seen on the phone at the diner Running in a mad flight through the corn field, clutching a heavy mystery Tracking her feet down, they saw her prints the next day only yards away She drops the parcel and doubled back peculiarly where she came from Transfiguration, beyond a reasonable doubt, put Camden on the spot and made it look like a suicide Sham justice! Right between the eyes Harry, Jerry! Truth is usually found in layers Was it a red herring? Was he a scoundrel, or did we lose him far too soon? Have we been set up? How were we chosen to play forever in this ring of crime?

Don't listen to those words, they just want to make you squirm It's not gonna take a genius for everyone to know what's going on They just want to prove you wrong And aren't you sick of Q&A, getting suckered into despair? It's not gonna take a genius, but aren't you sick of making up your own mind? Just take a breath and get away Another broken string, someone's going to meet and somebody's going to leave We've got nothing to lose How could you lose? Don't listen to those words, they just want to make you squirm Aren't you sick of finishing your own time? Aren't you sick of writing such perfect lines? Just take a breath and get away Another broken string, someone's going to meet and somebody's going to leave We've got nothing to lose How could you lose?

This gun is a sick make-believe I can't choke my way inside This gun imitates sickness Imagine a target, cough and fire Breathe it in, blow it out Write it down, scratch it off This gun is a sick make-believe I'll hold my breath and disconnect This gun imitates sickness Staggers down the spine like a memory Breathe it out, blow it out Bite your tongue, tell the truth Here I go Plagiarizing my own motives again Hear me out I'll try to give you the interesting version
4.
Would I be better getting off on education? So many hours and months and years made that thing called me escape You took me for a ride, the prison was inside Wouldn't you agree, it's nicer being free? Forty years ago today when I took that train Would I be better getting off on education? So many hours and months and years made that thing called me escape So competition never drew the map completely You’re stacking bottles and bodies and chairs to show for when I see you again You took me for a ride, the prison was inside Wouldn't you agree, it's nicer being free? You're talking in circles, in lines, in corners and the image of you is oh so ghostly His lock of hair locked behind a glass, and the grass so green for all the sheep to see
5.
Heliopause 04:39
We'll board a ship and we'll run, as you fall into the sun You're running out of friends You're alienated We'll flee the world that we're on, you'll age ten years to our one Broke from your gravity Reached escape velocity You never needed us more than you needed to push us away Gentrify, throw a line, pull it back and laugh to the bank You've got a way with negotiation Chase your id with desperation Your sphere of influence is lost We'll send a card from the heliopause

Ropes 03:28
They've cut the budget for ropes in half, now the flags only fly at half mast I'm scared all the time! Every intention will land on its face I'm scared all the time! Every road will dissolve into dirt They've erased the lines! That a lie used to need to cross I wonder how long it takes to choke on your own rot I cannot stand still for long One foot forward at a time in the same direction I cannot stand still for long One foot forward at a time in the same direction I know you need me to not be a wreck I'm awake all the time! All politics are personal now I'm awake all the time! It's not enough that the sun will always rise I've made up my mind! Show me who to carry across the line Some of us will evolve and some will repent I cannot stand still for long One foot forward at a time in the same direction I cannot stand still for long One foot forward at a time in the same direction I know you need me to not be a wreck We've been given a diagnosis, now we're just waiting for the symptoms

You're a burner and a loner, and you're dancing around in air And maybe I will fire when I'm goddamn good and ready, to make it all the more unfair The wind swirls around for the birds that feel the need for speed to sail down to the wires You know, on the first one I crashed and burned, I cannot breathe with all this pressure in my head That pattern is full, the enemy is dangerous, but right now you're worse and reckless We always look like flying aces, the way we soar down all these corridors You're a burner and a loner, and you're dancing around a man on a mission on two or three editions of space You should know by now, there are no points for second place The wind swirls around for the birds that feel the need for speed to sail down to the wires You know, on the last one I crashed and burned, I cannot breathe with all this pressure in my head That pattern is full, the enemy is dangerous, but right now you're worse and reckless We always look like flying aces, the way we soar down all these corridors Is this your idea of fun times?
8.
You've got a mission, go where the bodies are A sure bet you've got a point to make A small incision and we can bleed it out A quick fix inside a useless break My time is not my own, and there's nothing to reclaim Slow reversal time, come and take what's mine Where's the dignity in this fifty-cent shell game? Universal law, a thorn in this year's paw If I don't close my eyes I might forget my name Slow reversal time, never have what's mine I've got a right to work for what the market tells me I'm worth There's something in the corner of my eye, and I can't focus Used to be so independent Sad excuses, failed intentions own us all now and gouged our eyes out Took us all down, living without fear of burning and selling it out World keeps turning with or without
9.
You can cut it with a knife Thick electricity They're hanging from the rafters Don't take that literally You gotta push the gimmick You gotta sell the novelty There's a mark in every town Your own especially Will you stop marking out? It's not easy as 1-2-3 A low blow to the mid-section A high kick to the cranium
10.
Turn a blind eye [to all of the sweat] So the big sky [can live and remain] Unplays your games [and all the songs] We've never seen such balance Here's some hot air [an infecting drone] Almost making [another home] Sense of itself [all out for you] Who cares where it goes? Let's sing to the end of all the good things You're so scared it'll never be as cool as it used to Let's sing to the end of all the good things It looks like effort has paid you little And what will be long for this world? Turn a blind eye [to all of the sweat] So the big sky [can live and remain] Unplays your games [and all the songs] We've never seen such balance Let's drink to the waste of all the new things You're so scared it'll never be just as you remember Let's drink to the waste of all the new things It looks like you could use another And what will be long for this world? Here's some hot air [an infecting drone] Almost making [another home] Sense of itself [all out for you] Who cares where it goes?
11.
You’re living nine lives, telling all sides to the story Pushing back time and crying out your eyes with jealousy To hell with trying to anesthetize the evening When you arise, the sun will shine so brightly Why live anywhere, when you can go everywhere? Speak in chords, these are your friends and they carry it [Carry it over our heads!] Speak in code, these are your plans and you carry it [Carry it over our heads!] Speak in code, these are the plans you carry on There's no cleaning here, just shake those dirty parts off Don't you make me beg to bite that hand so badly when the ground is cracked out under the weight of the world
12.
Are you going home tonight? Will you ask me one more time? Broken vessels, broken mind Freedom gone, no notes to chime Were you leaving home that night? She had to know you were alright Single moms were taboo at the time Absconded without crime Tell me that story forty times, I do love how it ends Fanning the memories in your eyes, old deeds and gallant friends Tell me that story forty times, I do love how it ends Stoking the coals inside your eyes Embers and oxygen She had meant to ask you why you fled the bitter water's tide Did you read it in the tea? Did your oracle see me? Repeat yourself Don't know what it means Repeat yourself Maybe it's just the road, maybe it's just the weather Cannot watch it corrode, cannot keep it together
